Kimera EVO37: Where the iconic meets innovation.
The Kimera EVO37 is the closest thing we have to a time machine. Created by Luca Betti’s Kimera Automobili, it isn’t a restored original, but a restomod that reimagines the Lancia 037 for the 21st century with cutting-edge engineering and uncompromising character - exactly the kind of car Top Gear calls “one of the most exciting, charismatic and eventful experiences” they’ve driven, according to their recent competition awarding it the 2025 Performance Car of the Year.

Beneath the classic silhouette sits a 2.1L, twin-charged engine delivering ~550hp through a six-speed manual gearbox. The result is blistering performance that feels raw yet refined as if you're right there with Walter Röhrl, Markku Alén, or Henri Toivonen. The EVO37 is a utopia come to life, a dream that continues with the EVO38 and the K-39, whose realization marks only the beginning of a fascinating adventure.
A key part of the EVO37 experience is the Capristo exhaust. It defines the car’s character as much as its performance. The sound is raw, metallic, and mechanical, building aggressively as the revs climb toward 7,500RPM. Every throttle input and gear change is amplified, creating a soundtrack that recalls the drama of Group B. That sound is part of what makes this car so immersive, amplifying every moment behind the wheel and connecting driver to machine in a way few modern cars can match.

In a field of modern high-performance machinery, the EVO37 stood out with its Capristo-equipped exhaust note and ability to unite classic driving joy with contemporary performance - earning it Top Gear's 2025 Performance Car of the Year. The Capristo exhaust does not simply make the car louder; it gives the EVO37 a voice that feels authentic and purposeful, mimicking the ethos of why it's beloved and ensuring it will always be heard before it's seen.
